Did you ever play that game with your kids?  I did.  I play it with Kora now.  It is a nice way to roll play and figure out ahead of time what to do to get it right in a situation where it may be difficult to think straight.

I want to play “What If” with you today.  Answer these questions and visualize how things may be if you had the answers to the questions before the questions showed up.

Please…if you are brave…answer in the comments below…

one

What if…you could achieve anything you set your mind to?  What would you do?

two

What if…you chose to wake up each morning anticipating happiness, health and success?  How would that change your day and what you focus on?

three

What if …you closed your eyes and envisioned good things in your life?  What would be there?

four

What if…you controlled what enters your mind.  What would be there?

I am not a psychologist, but I can tell you that what you focus on is what you see.  If you wake up in the morning thinking “poor me” and how bad life is…that is what your life is.  You control it.

This is one of the most powerful truths you can know.  You control your feelings.  It is true.

You are powerful beyond your wildest dreams.

When you own your power, your life changes.

Not so sure?

Practice.

Replace your thoughts.  When negative thoughts pop into your head…turn it into a picture…then change the picture to a positive picture.  Practice, practice, practice.  You can transform your thoughts and in transforming your thoughts…you change your life.

What if…you do this every day?  What would your day look like if you woke up in the morning expecting happiness, health and success?

i totally agree we create our reality with our thoughts. It is great to be able to ride the ups and downs of life. Even if you wake up and imagine a great day and then get knocked by something unexpected you can bounce back easily if you are resilient and embrace all that life has to offer.

This post reminds me of one of my favorite quotes (which comes from a TV preacher). Joel Olsteen said ‘Whatever follows I AM, will find you’

    I AM tired? fat? stupid?
    or
    I AM inspired! strong! smart!

Since we get to choose are thoughts…choose wisely because our thoughts become our reality. Wish I learned this as a kid! Thanks for the reminder Cathy.

Me too Susie! I could tell you how old I was when I finally figured it out… this is something that should and could be taught to young children. That would be a great thing to do…exercises in responsibility of thought. ~Cathy

I am a firm believer in the power of positive thinking and in creating my own reality. Perhaps it’s a function of age but I choose to surround myself with people who have a similar mindset. Life is too short!

Yes Sue Ann, that is a BIG part of the puzzle…who we surround ourselves with. Thanks! ~Cathy

Great game, Cathy. It’s like the other side of the gratitude practice coin…focusing on what you want more of. I know that when I get up with thoughts of focus and productivity and wisdom, my day flows beautifully. Start with discouragement, and I’m spinning my wheels.

Tomorrow, I will wake up expecting success for each intention I set before I go to bed tonight. (Will keep you posted.)

I absolutely believe in what you focus on is what you see in your life. I love thought provoking questions like this and I am going to take time today to write the answers in my journal. I am also going to ask my kids these questions tonight at dinner (they are all teenagers), good questions for everyone!

wonderful “what if?” questions, cathy. and, as a counselor trained in cognitive-behavioral therapy, i especially appreciate your inspiring message. “what if you controlled what enters your mind?” yes. what if. imagine the possibilities.

I love all these deep questions! I might even use these with my clients. They are great for visualizing each person’s ideal life.
