unspecifiedWe’ve really made the big time!

Guess who is going to join me for an interview on February 25!

Marie Forleo!!!

Yea, that’s right!

The woman who taught me what I needed to know to move from brick and mortar to online and successful!

Thanks to Marie, I have the freedom to be in a very lucrative business and still visit my kids in England every year for weeks at a time. Thanks to Marie – …well…I guess you get it – I love Marie Forleo and I can’t wait to gush all over her and ask her questions that are important to health coaches.

First question (Pam Bilfeld asked this one) – where do you get those dresses?! I know, but I’m going to let her tell you.

What questions would you want to ask Marie?  Type them in below and I will ask them….

  1. how does a health coach determine their niche?
  2. where do you get those dresses?
  3. how important are those Tuesday Videos to your business?
  4. would you recommend weekly videos for health coaches?
  5. why did you choose a business model that provides your course only once a year?
  6. how many people do you employ now – compared to the first, second and third year you were in business?
  7. what does your course have, specifically that could help our health coaches?
  8. is it really possible to make money online as a health coach?
  9. what is the biggest mistake you see people making in setting up a new online business?
  10. how important are business relationships when you’re online?

I was listed in Marie’s “Success Stories” last year –

Here’s my story,

Cathy Sykora
Founder of The Health Coach Group
www.thehealthcoachgroup.com
My life was fine before B-School. I had a successful 32 year old business. I was happily married with 2 successful children, Ashlie and Jeff  and 3 grandchildren. My parents lived in Florida, and my son, a physicist, lived in England. It was hard to travel and visit. It was really expensive and it was hard to take time off work.

I was an Interior designer and supported my family with my business. In 2009 I got pretty sick and changed the way I ate to affect my health. I became a health coach…knowing that I couldn’t really BE a health coach…but to learn more. It was then I got the idea to help other health coaches. My big dream was to build businesses for health coaches – like an “almost franchise”…something they could walk into and start coaching. (I am working in that direction now).

My bigger dream was to be able to work from any place and visit my son and his kids and my parents. This program not only taught me how to conduct a healthy business online…it connected me to people who have enriched my life both personally and professionally. I consider my experience in B-School one of the most valuable investments I ever made. I more than made my money back by the 2nd week and now…well…now it is priceless.

A funny story. I didn’t tell my husband how much B-School cost – I knew he would flip a gasket and I knew I was going to do it… so we just skipped the gasket part. About 10 months after I started… he asked me how much it cost. I told him and he sighed and said “worth every penny.”

I would still be in brick and mortar.

There would be no The Health Coach Group without Marie.

I would not have been able to spend weeks with my dad a couple months before he died – I would have missed it and it was really good time.

I would still be relying on Skype 12 months a year instead of getting real life in person hugs from my (now 4) grandkids without Marie.

I would be missing out on a lot of great new relationships with B-Schoolers if not for Marie.

This is a low level part – (but still fun)…compared to all the others… I would still be driving a Saturn instead of a BMW that makes me smile REALLY big when I pull away from stoplights.

My work also enables 12 other people to have incredible income and I help 1600 health coaches a year learn business and set up prosperous businesses with programs that transforms the lives of 1,000’s of people. It is every boomer career person’s dream. I am making a difference in the lives of others. Life doesn’t get much better than this.

Give me some questions!  List them below!  I hope you can join me for this big moment – February 25 – 1p.m. PT, 2 p.m. MT, 3 p.m. CST, 4 p.m. ET

I became a Certified Weight Loss Coach (my method is basically teaching clients to eat mindfully) a year ago. I thought I had my niche down (hired a business coach to figure out my niche). Women that are done with diets and looking for a sustainable way to lose weight without guilt and no more measuring, counting, obsessing around food. I have also purchased a weight loss program from The health coach group to add to my personalized coaching. I have all the tools to teach someone how to lose weight without dieting. I have a regular newsletter, I have free opt-in’s, I post on facebook, I offer helpful advice on weight loss groups, I write a blog, my list is slowly growing (have about 250 subscribers so far), BUT I still have no one buying. WHY??? I’m currently looking for a ‘job’ working for someone else to pay the bills as I am now in debt up to my eyeballs because of the amount I’ve spent on programs and coaching. So far I’ve only had 1 person hire me. What am I missing, I know people are making it as coaches at home, so why am I just hearing crickets? I’ve even offered free consultations – nothing. (It is totally blowing my mind, that I’m not even getting people signing up for a free consultation). I just can’t believe that no one wants to lose weight. I don’t offer a magic pill (because there is no magic pill to weight loss) but is that all that people are willing to pay for? I’m so frustrated with the amount of time and energy I have put into trying to get my own coaching business going, but I have not seen the rewards yet. I have to say, I’m ready to through in the towel. I am in debt so badly that I can’t hire another business coach. I am actually crying as I write this because I had such hopes to get my own coaching business going, and be able to stay home with my 3 young kids, I am suffering such a tremendous let down, that I feel totally cheated out of what I want. I didn’t even have high expectations. I only was expecting to make $1000 within my first year, but I’ve only made $169 in my first year.
Sorry about the rant there, but I needed to release some of the ‘stuff’ I’d been keeping inside. So basically my questions is… how do I get paying clients, when I’ve already done work (with a business coach) identifying my target audience or niche?

    Hi Adriana,
I totally get your frustration. It took me a while to get my feet off the ground and to make money as a health coach too. I’m six years out of the gate now, and I am making good money as a coach. If you’re interested in getting on a call together, let’s chat for free. Maybe I can help steer you in the right direction. If interested, email me at PamsRecipe@gmail.com and let’s set up a time together. No charge. I’d just like to help, if I can.
    Warmly,
    Pam
