Do Health Professionals Need a Website?
Can I be in business without a website?
Well, sure you can. BUT WHY? Is it too much money? Too much trouble? Are you in business for real, or are you just playing around with it? Why would anyone not want to have a website to represent their business if you’re going to be in business online?
I got an email this week that was addressed to health coaches by a “so-called” business expert to health coaches. No wonder you get confused. She said you don’t need a website. That’s ridiculous. Then you don’t need a phone, a certification, any kind of educational materials to share, and you definitely won’t need a business checking or savings account. Why? Because you won’t be making deposits that need to go anyplace but your piggy bank.
But you guys are being fed a bunch of junk from all different directions from high and from low.
I had a guy with a health coaching school contact me this week because he wanted me to find jobs for his students. He said that there were plenty of health coaching jobs to go around and health coaches don’t have to go into business for themselves. The students he wanted me to find jobs for didn’t have to be paid, he just wanted jobs. Sure – I can find jobs, but what good would it do them. We’ve been through that.
There’s plenty of work for health coaches, but there aren’t a lot of jobs yet. So, if you’re going to be in health coaching, you have to have a business. If you’re going to be in business, you must be professional. So… you need a website. Online, your website is your storefront.

How to Know Who to Listen To
Another webinar I listened to last week was telling health coaches to dump the traditional online sales funnel system and just do webinars. “They’ll teach you how.” Right. Webinars are great. A webinar is a PART of the sales funnel, but it does not stand alone. It needs to be a small part of the whole. If you don’t believe me, go back and watch what they do. Do they follow up that webinar with sales emails? Do they add you to their list and contact you later on? Yes. they do.
